How
to avoid being another Dot Com BombANDincrease
your Profit Margin -part1
The
first reaction that most businesses have when faced with
dwindling sales and funds is to raise their prices. Regardless
of whether you are a traditional brick and mortar business
or an e-business, in today's competitive marketplace, unless
you are the sole distributor of an exclusive product, that
everybody just HAS to have - it doesn't work. It might,
if you're lucky, provide a temporary fix - that is till
people find out that they can easily get by without it,
or find a cheaper substitute
The other thing businesses try is lowering their prices
with hopes that they'll make up the difference in increased
sales. The problem with this is - how low can you go? Will
those lowered prices still cover your production costs,
your employees pay, health insurance, office and general
operating expenses? Again, a temporary fix at best.
The
only two effective methods are to;
1.) Lower
your operating expenses
2.) Increase your profitability
